FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Who is eligible for EOC services? Participants must reside in the Barry, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, or Newton County. Program participants need to meet income guidelines or be a first-generation college student (neither parent has completed a four-year college degree). How do I find out if I meet the income guidelines? You may contact an EOC advisor listed on the “Contact Us” page or call the EOC Crowder office at 1-866-822-1362. An EOC staff person will assist you in determining eligibility and answer any questions you may have. How much does it cost to get help from EOC? All EOC services are provided free of charge. Do I need to apply for the EOC program? An information sheet is completed upon your one-to-one interview with an EOC advisor. It is not necessary for any application or paperwork to be completed in order to meet or visit with an advisor. Where are the EOC offices located? Offices are conveniently located in each of the counties served by the EOC program. EOC advisors will assist participants in completing financial aid applications and locating scholarship and identifying grant information. EOC is not a funding source for college. How will EOC help me? An EOC advisor is often the first step in getting started on the participant's future educational plans. EOC will assist with college and career planning assessments, college selection and admission, financial aid assistance, GED/AEL class location and information, loan default and repayment plans, and helpful workshops.
